We are pleased to announce our new ICN Chair, Henry Yau, and Vice-Chairperson, Christiane Blankenstein.
Henry Yau is the Vice Chairperson under the ICN leadership of Thomas Hiemstra for the last year. He is the Managing Director of The University of Hong Kong Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) and holds a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and a MBA in Finance. Henry has deep-seated knowledge and experience in clinical trials and the pharmaceutical industry since early 1990s, and now undertakes multiple roles in many clinical research related bodies such as Advisor (Asia) of the Training and Resources in Research Ethics Evaluation Program (TRREE); Executive Director of the Committee of Ethics Review of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS); Member of the Expert Committee on Novel Drug Trials, Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University; Expert Advisor on Biomedical Innovation and Development of Shenzhen Pingshan District of China; Advisory Board Member of China Medical University Hospital Clinical Trial Center of Taiwan (CMUH-CTC); Honorary Advisor of Hong Kong Hospital Authority New Territories West Cluster Research Ethics Committee (HA NTWC REC); and Honorary Advisor of Hong Kong Children’s Hospital Research Ethics Committee (HKCH REC).
Christiane Blankenstein is a medical doctor with over 22 years of experience in clinical research and development. She worked as clinical project director for GE Healthcare and Bayer Healthcare and is currently director of the Muenchner Studienzentrum, MSZ. As the clinical trial unit of the Technical University Munich, School of Medicine, the MSZ is professional partner for academia and industry and member of German (KKSN), European (ECRIN) and international (ICN) academic clinical trial center networks.
